African Leaders Likely to Attend Ruto's Inauguration Should he win Next Year

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni would likely be one of the attendees.

DP William Ruto (Facebook/William Ruto).

Naturally, human beings are inclined towards the positivities than they are to negativities, that's; they prefer living to dying, winning to losing, making merry to gnashing teeth, ululating to wailing such and such.

With the politicking season drawing closer, eyes will be fixed on William Ruto and his arch rival Raila Odinga. The two are among the presidential hopefuls who stands a chance of inheriting Uhuru's political shoes.

As they enter the ring for the challenge, two results are probable; A loss and a win for either of them. Assuming William will humble Agwambo, his fandoms will verily throng the streets singing at the top of their lungs, 'Ni maombi si uchawi'. Raila's lieutenants will also console Baba with one of them sneaking in the famous, 'Kuvunjika kwa mwiko si...' maxim.

Assuming every presidential contestant will be contented with the poll results, the man from Sugoi will be sworn in as Kenya's fifth commander in-chief of armed forces on the first Tuesday of the fourteenth day after the date of the declaration of the result of presidential election.

On the D-day various dignitaries will grace the occasion to see Uhuru Kenyatta handing over the powers to his successor. The chief justice or his deputy will administer this oath. Its no doubt that Ruto's local, regional and even international friends will spare a moment off their busy schedules to attend such important an event.

Samoei has kept a tightly knit circle of friends to his bosom and these will predictably attend his inauguration ceremony. Some of his allies are the present day presidents in their respective countries.

Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is not uncommon a name in East African region. The former military man has been steering Uganda's wheel for close to four decades now. Museveni is a close confidante of Samoei and to honour their friendship, the veteran footed the bill for construction of William Ruto African research institute in Makerere University.

The two are also buddies in social media platforms. Of the 115 followers William Ruto follows on Twitter, Museveni is among them. Museveni also follows Ruto and this tells it all.

Yoweri sought Paul Kagame's help to topple Obote's government and he since kept his relationship with former ally sedate. A friend to your friend is equally your friend so goes the famous aphorism. Ruto and Kagame are friends on Twitter. Yoweri will presumably tag his friend along to attend William's inauguration ceremony.

Also on the list of Ruto's Twitter friends who are presidents who will likely attend his inauguration ceremony is Nigerian president Mohammed Buhari, Ghana president Nana Akufo Ado and his Namibian counterpart Hage G. Geingop.
