Why Raila's Unsolicited Defence of Ruto's 'Hustler Narrative' Stinks of Massive Hypocrisy

ODM leader Raila Odinga has sought to make some political capital by posing as a defender of free speech through a press statement released on Wednesday evening where he pretentiously and sarcastically tries to defend DP William Ruto's hustler narrative.

Raila's unsolicited defence comes in the wake of reports that a bill is in the offing at the National Assembly seeking to criminalize Ruto's 'hustler' campaign rallying call which continues to gain massive traction to the chagrin of UhuRaila's camps.

The omnious bill sponsored by Kitaeleweka irritant and Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange also proposes hefty fines, lengthy jail term and removal from office for any leader who propagates it.

"The hustler vs dynasties is a dangerous slogan. It is scary in its similarity to Adolf Hitler's National Socialism, most often referred to as Nazism... Nazism profiled German society on the lines of race,  social classes and tribe," Raila's statement reads in parts.

Odinga's defence, however, reeks of big hypocrisy because it only leaves one to wonder, if the slogan is that 'dangerous' why defend it then?  And is it even more vitriolic  than his volatile '41 against 1' tribal rhetoric that formed the basis of his infamous bungled 2007 presidential bid?

That not withstanding though, in a quick rejoinder, DP Ruto tweeting in response, appreciated Raila's defence while at the same time poking holes on his parochial understanding of the narrative.

But what Ruto seems to have forgotten to remind the opposition chief is that, the "hustlers vs dynasties" phrase was coined by the State 'Goebbels' and Kitaeleweka sympathizer, Mutahi Ngunyi, who should perhaps be sort to explain better what he meant by the phrase.

Ruto's narrative is all about hustlers' empowerment vs nobody. So, all this cowardice by Raila and his ilk is all nonsensical talk without any basis.
