The year 2020 went down in history as the year human life was put under threat by invisible an enemy whose attack has hitherto robbed the world over 2.05M lives, shattered world economies and disrupted normal lifestyles. Presently, USA, India and Brazil tops the list of the badly hit countries with them registering 417K, 153K and 216K deaths respectively.

As any other country, Kenya was also put under the test as Covid-19 scourge paralyzed the country's political, social and economic spheres. Men and women of daring demeanor rose during this time, risking their lives to save the country and this has seen them crowned the heroes of 2020.

On the latest list produced by Infotrak, health workers took position one followed by Uhuru Kenyatta, Ministry of Health, William Ruto, David Maraga, Religious Organizations and Raila Odinga with 42%, 12%, 11% 10%, 6%, 4% and 4% respectively.
What was that heroic a deed William Ruto did to deserve such a rating? One may ask. In Kenya's political geosphere, Ruto is not a commoner, he is the country second most powerful man who is a whiff away from occupying the house on the hill, that's if gods approve his kick.

William's political ship battled many waves in 2020 and whatever wizard he did to defy these political forces of gravity, only him and his creator knows. Though his adversaries prayed to see him stumbling and plunging into an abyss, he managed to remain up front. This verily saw his name appearing in the list of 2020 heroes.

Ruto was marked as persona non grata by the 'deep state' and wherever someone bears such a mark, machinations are released to dismount him. In a series of dispiriting and taming Samoei, his allies were expunged from key parliamentary committees, his office stripped off its powers and budgetary allocations with humiliations becoming a daily ordeal. The son of Sugoi managed to remain a float and this was a rare spectre and a hero is worthy a title to a man who stood the 'system's wrath.

Samoei is among the country's overlings with vast wealth empire and his Robin hood-like demeanor saw him coming to hustlers' aid following the hard economic life which ensued after the Covid-19 wave. Ruto donated sewing machines, moto cycles, laundry machines among other money eking of a living. Akufaaye kwa dhiki ndiye rafiki and good act never goes unmentioned and this Infotrak has proved.
