As the country's top political leadership turn into loose cannons ahead of 2022 polls, All Saints Cathedral Provost Reverend Canon Sammy Wainaina weighed in on Sunday where he criticized the political class across-the-board over what he termed as divisive political rhetoric.

Here is a quick recap of Wainaina's key talking points during the fiery summon that has since elicited a big debate across the country.

On Ruto's Hustler Vs Dynasties Narrative

"With such statements, the perceived hustlers are convinced that they are eligible to rob innocent people (dynasties) who they perceive own property not through hard work but theft. And drawing from this false claim, some ‘hustlers’ now believe that the solution to the quagmire is to destroy the property of their ‘rich’ neighbours! Would this end their miseries? Certainly not."

On Uhuru's Ethnocracy Counternarrative

"This is a recipe for ethnic bigotry and tribalism as it implies that Kenyans can only benefit when one of their own is at the helm of national leadership.

On Uhuru's Admission of Runaway Graft in Government

"Mr President, are you telling Kenyans that you are defeated? Who will then save Kenya from self-destruction if the President cannot? No wonder we have become a nation of thieves where everyone wants to become a politician."

On BBI

"We have money for BBI yet we don’t have the same to build schools as our children learn under trees. Counties cannot receive 15 percent of their allocations yet we are being told that they will get 35 percent if BBI is passed. If you can’t give 15 percent, how will you give 35 percent?"

Come Monday, Reverend Wainaina speaking on Citizen TV during  an interview, would further amplify on his criticism, something that seemed to touch on the raw nerves of Uhuru regime apologist and State blogger Mutahi Ngunyi who 'advised' the good cleric to keep off politics.

However, majority of Twitter users who reacted to Ngunyi's tweet, defended the preacher basically saying that he represented the voice of the majority.
