How Ruto is Preparing to 'Die' in 2021 Like the Legendary Jonas Savimbi of Angola

Those of you enamoured with the world of polirical history must have come across Jonas Malheiro Savimbi's name in Revolution Books and incase you haven't, then worry not, I have got your back buddy.

Born on 3rd August 1934, Savimbi was an Angolan militia, a revolutionalist and a politician. His military and liberalism kicks did succeed to salvage his country from Portuguese's tight grip. Thirst for power however saw him turn from a saviour to a man-eater.

Jonas staged war against the government he took part to install and the result was anarchy, death of civilians, destruction of properties and retardation of social, economic and political progress.
Before taking a final bow, Savimbi survived over a dozen of assassination attempts and 15 are the times he was reported dead only to resurface stronger, mysterious and dangerous.

His '40th day' however dawned, and on 22nd February 2002, he died with a gun on his hand as he returned fire. The legend's body (head, throat, upper body and legs) was smeared with 15 bullets and the wounds were surely fatal. That's the short story of Jonas Savimbi Intriguing, isn't it?

The above political narrative is relatable to Kenya's current political script. UhuRuto joined forces in 2013 not primarily to progress that Mwai Kibaki had set in momentum but rather to cushion themselves from ICC fangs. Their ticket was hinged on need to beat Raila Odinga and less of ideological grounding.

The duo promised to salvage the country from an abyss of mismanagement by transforming it to match first class countries.

Ruto worked closer with Jomo's son to achieve that they wanted and along the way, like historical Savimbi, Ruto has turned against his own government and boss. The son of Sugoi is currently posing as a better chef should he be substituted with Uhuru who is chief chef.

William is currently staging a 'revolution' as he propagates Hustler vs Dynasties tale. The former class comprises of the underlings who live in abject poverty and the latter class in which Ruto belongs is a party to. What an absurdity!

Like the Angolan government which unleashed political machinations to dismount Savimbi, so has Jubilee government done to dispirit William.

Hitherto, anti-Ruto brigade has hounded Samoei's allies out of key parliamentary positions, dispirited Ruto's offices but though they have managed it, Ruto is growing and reverberating as a beast. You remember 15 are the times Savimbi was thought dead but he bounced back more charged, so has William.

As 2022 presidential race draws near, Ruto has refused to buckle under pressure and he is currently pointing his gun nozzles to his nemeses. Leaders allied to him have since unveiled a new political party and have dared Jubilee Party's top brass.

As if that's not all, Kandara MP Alice Wahome has rattled a snake as Kipchumba Murkomen and Oscar Sudi shake Gideon Moi's camp. This will verily be answered with fire. As 2021 unfolds itself, political fireworks are expected between Tanga Tanga marshals and Kielweke lieutenants.

History has repeatedly reminded us that no one stages a war against the sitting regime and wins, as Jonas was suppressed and his body left in tatters, Ruto's is undebatably living on the borrowed time and anytime, one of the greatest and deadliest bomb with strike his camp leaving no survivor.

Savimbi died without achieving that which he wanted and his overly ambitious demeanor accelerated this. Though William has been flexing his muscles to occupy the house on the hill since 2013, this may turn out to be a journey that never was. Is my narrative farfetched? Time will tell.
