Should Ruto Form Alliance With This Man, Uhuru and his Allies 'Watajua Hawajui'

One of the popular strategy presidential hopefuls use to bag the country's powerful and revered seat is that of forming political alliances. The strategy has been used before and it yielded great results. In 2002, NARC coalition  put to an end KANU's longtime reign.

In 2013, Jubilee Coalition gave the country its fourth president and first deputy president respectively. In 2017, Raila Odinga coalesced with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and CCM boss Isaac Ruto to form NASA coalition which gave Jubilee Party a run for their money.

With 2022 general elections beckoning, its predictable that which  happened before will sure happen again. Coalitions will be formed to increase one's winning chances. Hitherto, William Ruto is among those who have declared their readiness to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta who will be leaving office in eighteen months time.

Naturally, Samoei is Uhuru's successor as per Jubilee Coalition's 2013 pre-election pact. The former is supposed to return hand and support his deputy who stood by him in 2013 and 2017.

Muigai has since hinted that his choice of successor will shock many. Kenyan politics is not among the most disciplined fields in the country and its mathematically possible for Kenyatta II to betray William.

Presently, Uhuru's  interest has inclined towards ODM boss Raila Odinga and this has seen theories rising of possible alliance in 2022. Its no doubt that its the handshake and Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which has kept the duo together, what if BBI falls, will they still be together? Answer that (silently).

History is still alive and we are apprised that prior to 2002 elections, Daniel Moi did the unthinkable; he overlooked Raila and George and instead he threw his lots on Uhuru Kenyatta. Agwambo and George were angling to get Moi's endorsement but instead 'Walijua hawajui'- They knew they don't know (this slang thing is not my thing).

History has a funny way of repeating itself and as David's son quipped; There is nothing under the son. What  happened to William can equally happen to Agwambo. If Uhuru's words are a thing to go by, neither William not Jakom will he bless.

Should the above happen, then Uhuru is bound to lose. After receiving betrayal from Nyayo, Raila led an exodus of disgruntled members (George Saitoti, Martha Karua among others) and that's how Narc came to be. They threw their gauntlets behind Mwai Kibaki who have Moi's protégé a rounded beating.

Baba and 'My friend' worked together in 2007 and its possible for them to join forces once again to beat their enemy. Raila-Ruto coalition will be tsunami and of those it will sweep is Jubilee party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and his cronies.

ODM boss and the deputy president commands millions of followers and all that is required of them is willingness to work together should need arise. The practicality of the aforementioned  hypothesis  largely lies on Uhuru's moves.
