McKenzie Partner Speaks on How They Founded the Cult

Good News International Church founder, Ms Ruth Kadzo Kahindi has revealed that her former partner, Paul Mackenzie changed from a poised and disciplined young man to a controversial preacher after he visited Mombasa to lead a sermon.

Ms Kahindi and Mackenzie left the Malindi Baptist Fellowship Church Hoe They Founded the Cily Before in the  onho w They Foindrdearly 2000s to start their own church, Good News International Church, and had a huge number of followers.

Mackenzie became known outside of Malindi and was invited to Mombasa to lead a sermon, and from then on he began preaching things that his congregants did not agree with, such as telling them not to take their children to school or to go to the hospital when they were sick.

The congregation started to follow his teachings, which became more controversial, and people began to quit their jobs, parents stopped taking their children to school, women were told to shave their heads and to marry within themselves.

Mackenzie’s wife passed away during an argument with Kahindi about his teachings. During the funeral, a preacher was invited to remind Mackenzie of who he was and his pastoral journey, but instead, he discredited everyone present except Kahindi’s daughter and son-in-law.

Kahindi left the church to him but her daughter and son-in-law joined Mackenzie’s church leadership. Ms Kahindi reveals that her granddaughter, Elizabeth Sidi, was among those forced out of school, and that she died heavily pregnant at the age of 19 after getting married. She also disclosed that the granddaughter worked as a crew member on Mackenzie's Times TV channel. The children and their whereabouts are unknown to Ms Kahindi, who alleges that Smart Mwakalama, her son-in-law, should be jailed for life as one of Mackenzie’s aides for costing them their families. Smart is currently in police custody.
