Video: Uhuru Kenyatta Finally Concedes Defeat, Avoids Mentioning Ruto

The disgraced and twice-humiliated outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally conceded that the 2022 presidential electoral journey has come to a shattering end for him following a unanimous decision by the Supreme Court of Kenya on Monday to uphold the election of William Ruto as Kenya's fifth President on August 9.

In a pre-recorded seven-minute-long video released on Monday evening, the visibly irritated and disappointed Kenyatta promised to relinquish power saying he will ensure a smooth transition to the incoming administration even as he understandably avoided mentioning Ruto by name.

The despot who leaves office with his head hung in shame and his legacy in tatters after his project, Raila Odinga, was rejected decisively at the ballot, would also seem to question the court's decision by claiming 'inconsistent rulings', perhaps a stark reminder of Uhuru's utter disregard for the rule of law which characterized his tenure.

President-elect William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, are now set to be sworn into office on Tuesday, September 13, in accordance with the constitution. The day will be a public holiday.
