Hon Kiguru's roadmap for Kariara Ward in the next five years dubbed 'Kioneki gia Kariara' (Kariara Vision), is second to none. Founded on the 'MBELE PAMOJA' (Forward Together) philosophy which prioritizes an all-inclusive developmental agenda, it seeks to address everything and everyone that previous ward representatives have appeared to ignore.
"After a lot of soul searching and consultations with various stakeholders, I am happy to announce my candidature for the Kariara Ward MCA seat for the elections to be held on August 9, 2022," Hon Warui tells 254 NewsDay.
He adds: "What makes me the best choice for the Kariara Ward people, is that my agenda seeks to go beyond what others before me have been able to achieve. The same applies to the agendas of my worthy competitors in that mine targets at a total transformation of Kariara Ward like it has never been seen before. I aspire to make Kariara Ward great, prosperous and highly developed electoral unit with everyone on board."
This, Hon Warui, however, notes will require a very deliberate approach and focus as outlined in his manifesto key-priority areas below:
- Pursue holistic investments in ward infrastructure as a long-term and ever-evolving priority in Kariara development. This will be achieved through proper planning and prioritization of development projects.
- Champion to have every adult covered under the NHIF program while ensuring that all dispensaries and health centres are fully equipped to address all residents health needs.
- Lobby for subsidized farm inputs and animal feeds with a view to increase food production and enhance farmer's income. All cash crops in the ward will have a place on the table to address whatever concerns.
- Enhance and organize efficiently the informal food markets where food is bought and sold. Often these are congested with produce stands sitting next to each other, mostly on roadsides.
- Empowerment of youths, women and people with special needs through financial support and training where necessary as well as nurturing sports and artistic talents.
- Ensure clean-safe water to all households, sanitation and waste management in markets and major shopping centers.
- Improved business environment through lobbying for consolidation of licences required to operate SMEs.
- Provide ample support to the education sector through equipping all vocational training centers and ECDs while rolling out a robust school mentorship program across the ward. Children and parents in all sub-locations must be confident that the education support they are receiving is not in any way inferior to that of their counterparts in other constituencies.
These programs among others, upon full implementation, Hon Warui observes will yield the desired result of creating a sustainable all-inclusive development across Kariara Ward.
"Being a Member of County Assembly is about creating a sustainable 360° economic growth that aims at providing opportunities for progressive developments. Once a visionary and realistic leadership is in place after August 2022 polls, Kariara Ward will able to realize its goals much easily and effectively. That is what I intend to achieve when I take charge," Warui asserts.

He notes that at the heart of his all-inclusive transformative agenda, is an army of vibrant and enterprising women and youth who, for many years, have been disenfranchised from engaging in the productive and meaningful development of Kariara Ward. All these people, Warui underscores, will be key pillars of his leadership.
"I have every intention to transform Kariara Ward through a bold, robust and wide-ranging conversation centred on the all-inclusive development projects that are of priority to the people. It will be a new era of charting a new path that will uplift the standards of every Kariara resident by offering equal opportunities," Hon Warui states.
The incoming MCA concludes by appealing to all Kariara voters who believe in an all-inclusive developmental agenda, accountability and transparency, to join him in his 'Kioneki gia Kariara' come August 9 to steer Kariara Ward to the next level.
