How Mudavadi's Anticipated January 23 Declaration Will Make or Break DP Ruto Politically

Musalia Mudavadi is among the presidential contenders who are looking forward to unseat Jomo Kenyatta's son whose ten-year tenure is on it's decelerating phase.

Despite of his optimism and clarity of vision, those on the know have time and again advised MaDvd to shelve his bid for he stands no chance against the self-declared chief hustler and ODM mandarin who are indomitable candidates in the 2022 Statehouse race.

Latest stats from Infotrak rated Mudavadi the third most presidential candidate with a meagre 1% rating with Raila and Ruto bagging 33% and 32% respectively. The poll further indicated that 44% of Kenyans want ANC leader to deputize either Agwambo or Samoei with 55% advising him to consider ODM honcho.

With the country vastly hurtling towards August 9 polls, Musalia who has hitherto received numerous invitations from Ruto-Raila teams has promised to make a ground shaking declaration about his political stance on January 23.

"Sitaki kutoa siri zote sahi sababu nitakuwa nimetoa utamu na ladha, lakini siku hiyo ANC itatoa msimamo ambao utakuwa kama msimamo wa ardhi katika siasa za Kenya" Musalia said during his Nyamira county tour on January 16.

As the countdown to Mudavadi's D-day continues, there are three probable declarations he will ultimately make on the said day. In no particular order, he will either throw his gauntlets behind the man from Sugoi or he will stand his ground and throw his hat into the presidential ring or more possibly join Raila's Azimio La Umoja team. Whichever path he takes, his would-be moves will make or break William Ruto.

Political pundits and theorists are in agreement that Raila and Ruto have equal chances of succeeding Kenyatta II. Despite of their promising ratings, none of them will meet the required threshold of 51+1, this is where Musalia comes in to give the country it's fifth president and opposition leader respectively.

From Moses Kuria's statistical projections, Ruto's total ratings are 40.97% with Raila and MaDvd's standing at 36.84% and 12.54% respectively. From the aforestated stats, it is evident that the son of Mululu has safety keys to Statehouse and this Raila-Ruto knows.

Assuming he will heed Uhuru Kenyatta and Atwoli's clarion plea to team up with Odinga's son, Ruto's political goose will be roasted and served whilst hot the reverse is equally true. Should he forego the said options and fire his second presidential shot, none of the hopefuls will meet the 51% threshold thus a run off is inescapable and in such a scenario Mudavadi will still the most sought political pride.
