Chameleons
are known for their distinctive color patterns a trait ethologists have
described as beneficial for their existence. Chameleons change colors to stay
safe from their predators and lay trap to the unsuspecting preys, every time
you see them changing colors just know their something cooking.
Barely fifteen
months to the next general elections, presidential hopefuls have started
devising political formulas with ODM doyen Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto
expected to come forth with a pragmatic one. The two antagonists are closely
monitoring each other and as Sun Tzu once quipped; He will win he who knows and
masters his enemy’s moves.
Ruto’s
competitors have blindly revealed a vital information a miscalculation they
will live to regret about. Speaking on Friday morning, ODM secretary general
Edwin Sifuna discredited the much popularized news of Raila’s 2022 candidature.
On 1st April, Orange party announced that three members within the
party’s ranks had presented their nomination papers, the trio are; Raila Odinga,
Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya, the party is set to choose their flag bearer
next year.
Sifuna
termed ODM’s 1st April announcement as a mind game coined to
convince their enemies. It’s only the ignorant who will take his words
seriously, but whoever thinks hard will decrypt the message Edwin sent to their
supporters and foes alike.
To Ruto, ODM
Secretary General’s revelation means that the party has changed tactic and its
currently capitalizing on psychological wars. By publicly telling their
opponents that their main challenger did not submit his nomination documents
will set them at lax and this will give Agwambo an easy time to restructure his
attack team and immediately IEBC blows their trumpets, they will lead an ambush
against Ruto’s army. What did the war philosopher say about attacking? When you
are near, make it look like you are far and when you are far, make it look like
you are near, voila!
Assuming
that ODM is not playing mind games anymore, it’s evident that the veteran will
soon or later fold his political mats and exit the stage. Should Jakom take
that part, the man from Sugoi will have a smooth ride to statehouse since his
stumbling block has bowed out of the race.
