Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Jubilee VC David Murathe appearing on Citizen TV's Newsnight programme on Tuesday were correctly introduced by the host as DP William Ruto's and President Uhuru Kenyatta's right hand men respectively.

However, unknown to viewers beforehand was that one of the two men, Murathe to be precise, would show up drunk like skunk and turn his appearance into a ludicrous debacle while embarrassing the President in front of the whole country.

Murkomen on the other hand having had realized that the President's henchman was under jet fuel control, would unapologetically cease the moment to not only dig into Murathe's drunken state, but also attribute everything he said to alcohol inside his gray-haired head.

At the same time the outspoken senator would eloquently articulate his boss's agenda and dominate the lengthy interview as the drunk Murathe struggled to catch up.

As the interview went on, Murathe  seemingly irritated by Murkomen's persistent reference to his state of mind, would lose his cool and admit his drunkenness even inviting the senator to go join him in the drinking.

At one point, the cameras would even catch Murathe trying to reach to his glass of booze as the urge grew to intoxicate his mind further and boost his Dutch confidence. He undoubtedly required it amidst Murkomen's deconstruction of him!

"When Murkomen cannot argue, he starts saying people are under the influence. Influence of whaaaat? Wewe kuja tukunywe," shouted Murathe in a visibly drunken stupor.

Even the host, Waihiga Mwaura, having by now realized that Murathe was no longer in the right frame of mind to debate objectively, and to perhaps help Uhuru save face, would allow Murkomen lengthy scoops of unchallenged monologues, only allowing  Murathe some measured and disrupted  rebuttals.

Murathe's TV appearance was a fiasco that further affirmed the rumour about the kind of people that the commander-in-chief surrounds himself with and reportedly influence his behaviour both in public and private.

In conclusion, the President's man had clearly lost it and social media users could not help but troll the drunk guy and to an extension, the President.

Below are some of the Twitter reactions to Murathe's drunken incoherence during the primetime TV interview.
