Prior to any football match, coaches train and prepare their players both physically and psychologically. On the pitch, players take their respective positions and play by the rules.

More often, coaches take blame for poor results but players take credit for good results, such is life in soccer. With the country hurtling towards its third general election under the new constitution. William Ruto is among the coaches whose teams will take part in presidential league.

As any other coach, Ruto is looking forward to register victory against his competitors and this explains why he works tirelessly to keep his political embers alive. Despite of the numerous kicks from his enemies, the man from Sugoi has blatantly refused to buckle under pressure.

To ensure his team wins with a landslide, William is undoubtedly using what can be dubbed as; A 2-point plan strategy to beat his opponents. How does that strategy look like? One may ask.

Undebatably, Ruto is solidifying his fan base along the social-economic cleavage. Kenya constitutes of two societal classes; the underlings and the overlings. The later class basks in bountifulness and contentment, august families belongs to this category.

Majority of Kenyans are living below the poverty line and its them Samoei seeks to empower. Ruto who sprouted from a humble background has projected himself as a poor man's saviour and this, has made his name a sensation.

You now know how William's first strategy of creating division between the rich and the poor works. With the split in place, Ruto and his marshals will make it happen that the later group is suffering because of the rich and through this radicalism, the hoi polloi will rise against the rich by voting in their fellow hustler and this is what Ruto wants.

The second strategy the second in command is using to increase his chances is that of provoking and whittling down people's emotions (Emotional Strategy, ES). Ruto is charging Kenyans against the dynasties while on the other hand is diagnosing their anger with goodies.

Samoei is a free stipend and he is fond of doling out money like confetti to organizations and harambees. He shares that he has with the downtrodden. His financial well is no doubt full to the brim and it can predictably sustain him and his fandoms for months.

His Tanga Tanga lieutenants have equally adopted their master's ideology of giving rather than receiving. This has seen their fortunes growing exponentially and should their competitors fail to come forth with practical a remedy, they may lose to the doyen come 2022.
