Oh hail! King Solomon, through your acute art of observation and deduction man has learnt that under the sun there is nothing new but that there is, is a cycle of similar and predictabke events. What's currently happening, happened before and assuredly they will recur in future.
The usual political cycle has started taking shape ahead of 2022 elections. New political parties and realignments have started evolving, betrayals and theatrics have been witnessed and as time lapses more of political intrigues will take their respective forms.
Like never before, ODM pioneer Raila Odinga is once again at the epicenter of 2022 succession politics. Though many believed his gun had ran dry of bullets, Agwambo has rapidly reinvented himself and verily his name will be on the ballot in the year's presidential election.
Hitherto, his greatest challenger is none other than William Ruto, his former political student. The two have probable odds of succeeding Uhuru Kenyatta but that depends on their individual aptness and political strategies.
In his recent move, Raila has scored a self goal and this will greatly increase Ruto's chances of occupying statehouse. The veteran has distanced himself from his NASA co-principals and that they are anticipating.
We were both alive when Musalia, Wetangula and Kalonzo threw their gauntlets behind Jakom in 2017 believing that the later will return hand in 2022 by supporting one of them. Citing betrayal as the main reason why he has let go of 2017 NASA pre-election pact, Raila has affirmed that he will not endorse any of the aforenamed operatives for the top seat.
How will Jakom's declaration benefit William? The man from Sugoi needs competent, reliable and influential strikers to make his course practical. As a main striker, Ruto needs an assistant who will help him to strike, score and share the aftermath of their joint success.
Speculations have for a while now been doing rounds around the possibility of William appointing either MaDvd or Kalonzo as his running mate. Truth be told, former NASA co-principals will detach themselves from Raila after he disowned them, they will join forces to teach the veteran a political lesson but staking on their minute political form, they won't succeed on their own.
So? The practical and easy way to seize Raila's ship is by supporting his closest opponent, William. For their support, one of them may become Ruto's 2022 running mate.
