Rosemary Odinga: How my Youngest Daughter Saved my Life

Three years ago, Raila Odinga's eldest daughter, Rosemary Odinga, fully plunged into the political terrain. A month later, Rosemary encountered a chronic illness that saw her admitted to a hospital in South Africa where he spent months being attended to. 

Some would argue that the debilitating illness shouldered her out of the political landscape. 

She divulged that the illness took her sight for two years, however, she further claimed that she has registered a successful recovery.

In a past sit-down with K24 TV, the aspiring politician appreciated the input of her family and friends as the force behind her recovery. 

Rosemary stated that her mother would read out comforting messages from friends as a way to uplift her soul. She also credited her recovery to her two daughters who had been in the belly of comforting her. 

The illness attempted to seize her happiness, denying her the elbow room to read books. According to her mother, Rosemary used to enjoyed the pure-fun of immersing herself in the world wedged between the depths of novels. 

The illness stealth into her life during a working holiday. She was accompanied by her daughters to the leadership training which took place outside the cityscape of Nairobi. One night, she experienced a terrible headache. She'd wake up with her condition having deteriorated. 

Her daughter notified the staff of the severity of the condition. The hotel hatched a plan to drive her to the hospital using an ambulance. Once there, the doctor instructed her to seek better treatment in Nairobi. Since her condition couldn't allow her to drive, Ida instructed the hospital to arrange for her to be flown using an air ambulance. It would later be revealed that she was suffering from an aneurysm and a tumor
