Presently, William Ruto and Gideon Moi are the bedrocks of Rift Valley politics. The former is the region's mouthpiece but this Moi's son is striving to cut short. With electioneering period in the offing, Ruto is readying his forces for a survive or die battle.
Among those posing a threat to William's presidential course is Gideon who faults him of stealing his birthright. As his father's favourite, Gideon was supposed to be the natural successor of Daniel Moi but this Ruto shortchanged.

For decades now, Mudavadi and Moi families have kept a cordial relationship. Musalia's father was a close ally and confidante of Moi and when the former died, Nyayo hauled MaDvd from University and thrusted him in power. As his foster son, he mentored and nurtured him politically. In 2013 when Musalia fired his first presidential shot, Moi family overwhelmingly threw their gauntlets behind him.

ANC has threatened to sponsor Ruto impeachment motion and this tells it all of Ruto-Mudavadi relationship. MaDvd has lately invested in mudslinging Ruto and that he is agitating for and this points to one end; William should invest somewhere else.
Gideon and Mudavadi have been friends for years and should MaDvd's decide to deputize William who happens to be his friend's sworn enemy, then this will be a betrayal. Western Kenya region is a vote rich hub and with Musalia's support, Ruto was to score big but now, he will have to work extreme harder as Gideon threatens to deny him from accessing MaDvd's support.
