The philosophical concept of dualism will live to remind us that life is governed by a pair of antagonistic forces, that's; life and death, love and hate, positivism and negativism, reverence and disdain, evil and holy such and such.

As the year 2020 vastly wane out, William Samoei Ruto undoubtedly tops as the man of the year, his name became a sensation and a day without his name doing rounds in Kenyan dailies, barazas and social media platforms was  deemed incomplete.

As any other standard human being, Ruto had his greatest and lowest moments in 2020. Today we will highlight some of his lowest moments and the forces behind them. Below is a list of reknown figures who gave the DP the hardest time this year.

David Murathe

Its no doubt that Jubilee Party vice-chair's main agenda in 2020 was to dismount Ruto's political camp by staging air, land and sea attacks in a bid to ground the son of Sugoi. Speaking during an interview months ago, Ruto divulged that Jubilee had been hijacked by power brokers and busy bodies and arrows pointed to the eater; Murathe.

The vocal Kileweke marshal has lived throwing salvo at William Ruto and sure, nothing pleases him more than seeing the former seething in pain. Instead of advocating for Ruto presidency as Jubilee Coalition's 2013 pre-election pact, Daudi is busily architecting Raila Odinga presidency.

In Ruto's alphatically lined list of political nemeses, David Murathe's name is the first on mention. Their enmity is hinged on an argument that the second  in command is impertinent and his integrity is bordering lack of thereof.

Francis Atwoli

Like  biblical Jeremiah, COTU secretary has made it his business to proclaim a message of wrath against William. Many are a times he has categorically 'prophesied' that Ruto's name will practically miss in the presidential ballot. A prophet is not honoured at his own hometown and majority of Ruto's fandoms have dismissed him as a prophet of doom.

The vocal trade trade unionist has accused the DP of disrespecting his seniors and juniors alike and this makes him (Ruto) an enemy of the state. Atwoli is known to be impressed with many things among them smashing an IPhone and listening to Rhumba music, but nothing will gladden his heart more like seeing his prophecy coming true in seventeen months time.

Fred Matiang'i

In his lifetime as Cabinet Secretary for IT, Education and Internal Coordination, Matiang'i has watermarked himself as a no-nonsense CS and this  has made him Uhuru's favourite Mr Fix-it-all man.

Late last year, a workaholic Fred was crowned a Super CS and this saw him wielding more power. Hitherto, he and Ruto have been jostling and Matiang'i has severally humiliated and demeaned the latter with latest instance being the breach of protocol at Manyani. Matiang'i has since pledged loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga out casting William.

Matiang'i has been accused of misusing power to frustrate Ruto's allies. The former has been using the boys in Blue to effect this.

Raphael Tuju

JP secretary general has equally made Ruto's stay in the party unbearable. Leaders allied to William have accused him of being an insider or more politically correct Raila's mole within the party. Tuju joined forces with Murathe to dramatically expunge Ruto and his allies from Jubilee organs.

The list is endless but the aforesaid are the sharks who nearly devoured William Ruto in 2020. Some little 'fishes' that also threatened Ruto include Nyeri MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Kanini Kega and a number of ODM party lieutenants.
