Popular Western MP Succumbs to Covid-19

 Matungu Member of Parliament Justus Makokha Murunga is dead. Makokha has been the MP for Matungu Constituency in Kakamega County for the past three years elected on an Amani National Congress Party ticket.

  According to relatives, Murunga succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday evening while undergoing medical treatment at St. Mary's Hospital in Mumias. Before his death, Murunga was showing symptoms related to Covid-19 such as shortness of breath and general body weakness before rushed to the medical facility in the subcounty.

 Medical reports indicate that the late MP had underlying conditions of Diabetes.

Murunga will be remembered for being in the forefront championing for development in his constituency.

 He came into limelight last year when he was grilled by the DCI over mass killings in his constituency famously known as the Matungu Killings.
