Talk within the corridors of power has it that the relationship between Uhuru Kenyatta and his 'brother' William Ruto has remained sour for a while now. Before their covalent bond was subjected to unexpected thermal vibrations, the duo were inseparable.

The bad blood is said to have been caused by Uhuru's dalliance with Raila Odinga who by 29th March 2018, was Jubilee government's greatest critic. However those apprised with in-house happenings have accused Ruto of stepping into the big man's shoes which is a fatal political mistake.

Naturally, there is no conflict that can fail to be solved if involved parties show willingness. If Raila and Uhuru buried their hatchets and embraced each other as if nothing happened in 2017, its equally possible for William to mend fences with his boss and let their once glimmering relationship spark once more.

Since time immemorial, emissaries have been sent to bargain on behalf of the involved parties. Should William decide to end the cold war between him and Uhuru, all he needs is to use a middleman.

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru is among those whose relationship with the head of state is sedate. Anne is speculated to be Uhuru's successor in Mt Kenya region and before taking the mantle, she requires to be kept abreast of what is supposed of her.

Anne is Building Bridges Initiative point lady in mountain region and this is a clear sign of the confidence Uhuru Kenyatta has in her. Ruto should explore this rare chance and mend fences with his seniors. Staking on her closeness to the country's chief commander, Waiguru will verily sew that which was torn.

Waiguru also shares a cordial relationship with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga who consequently happens to be Ruto's greatest political enemy. As seen, Anne will be a linking thread between Ruto and his adversaries. What Ruto needs to do is to flaunt the chance and make things right.
