The rate of wealth creation between members of the young and the predecessor generations is really an enormous contrast. However, drug and substance abuse have particularly seized and hurdled the lives of majority of the young people tossing their fortunes into a dark fringe of uncertainty and a precipice of failure. The once hard-to-find and forbidden sundry substance has now become dangerously regular and frequently ordered merchandise.

Freaky cultures of smoking and chewing of khat, is no more something to hide. Alcohol addiction has crazily submerged many families in an abyss of frustration, confusion and irresponsibility. Today, an elder would no longer scold or better, reprimand a young boy, with whom they could be incidentally guzzling from the same jug in their drinking spree. Once the innocent soul offers to facilitate an extra cup for the old man, the whole case is settled, then it is all well for every party to quench their urge.

The peace and tranquility of several households that was traditionally safeguarded by positive cultural values, has today crumbled into shackles of family disgrace and routine injustices. Streets have transformed into patches of societal vices holding every kind of moral decadence. Young men have abdicated their family responsibilities for mediocre and tomfoolery engagements with their peers at the streets.

The mutual and responsible relationship between peers of opposite gender is in the grave of extinction. The tide of media influence has taken toll on the mindsets and behaviors of this group people. From a critical observation of several societal injustices, it is enough to underline the truth about the magnitude of cognitive pollution the wrong use of media among young people that it has caused.

It is a demoralizing fact to imagine how this generation is going to conduct their parental obligations when the time is ripe. I feel like this is the only chance to embrace our natural selves and stop relying on intoxications for pleasure and satisfaction. The world needs to heal of drugs; Mother Nature is chilling in disappointment of negligence and scorn, but we should always remember she has an irresistible appeal and does not forgive her abusers.
