Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei now wants two Cabinet Secretaries in President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration be shown the door.

Accusing them of incompetency, Shollei said Education CS George Magoha and his Health counterpart Mutahi Kagwe deserve to go home as they have completely failed to deliver in their dockets.

Speaking during Citizen TV's Day Break segment, the Jubilee legislator said the education and health sectors could not have been hit badly by COVID-19 had the ministers concerned directed funds to necessary departments to stem spread and effects of the killer virus.

The former Chief Registrar of the Judiciary insisted Magoha and Kagwe were unfit to serve in their current ministries and called on MPs to impeach them.

"We have an incompetent CS for health & education; CS Magoha can do a cabinet memorandum seeking reprioritization of funding & so can CS Kagwe. Parliament has approved all budgets, the next step for Parliament should be to impeach Cabinet Secretaries," Shollei said on Wednesday.

The vocal lawmaker opposed Magoha's directive of reopening schools in January next year claiming proper safety measures to ensure teachers and learners do not contract the virus have not been put in place.

"If parents decide students are not going to schools, it won’t matter how much CS Magoha tells us to open schools. CS Kagwe lecturing us on TV in his posh suits is not saving lives of teachers & doctors who have died or protecting our children in schools," she stated.

Shollei, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, said the government through the ministry of health of education and health need to give assurance to parents and the public that schools are safe by providing adequate necessities such as masks and sanitizers.

"Rushing children to schools is not a priority. CS Magoha ordered masks at Rivatex months ago but when schools opened (in October), there were no masks," she alleged.
