There exists unusual but yet an astounding relationship between politics and football. The two fields thrills and attracts dozens of supporters worldwide. Hardwork, ingenuity, skills and discipline are the key ingredients in these fields.

For any football team to shine against their competitors, the team heavily invests in talented players, technocrats, training and coaches. This concept is equally applicable in politics. For one to win any elective seat, he/she should court and form an alliance with influential, reliable, resourceful and seasoned political players.

Should the present factors remain constant, William Ruto will be throwing his hat into a presidential ring come 2022. He is among the presidential hopefuls whose chances of occupying the house on the hill seem probable and possible.

As long as tribal jingoism remains to be an ingredient in winning elective seat in Kenya, Ruto needs to extend his arm to reknown and influential regional kingpins.

Former Finance Minister Musalia Mudavadi is among those William needs to court. Musalia held a number of ministerial and managerial positions in Moi's regime. In matters of  political experience, MaDvd as he is popularly known is worth a pound.

The fact that Musalia is Western Kenya kingpin coupled with his vast political experience qualifies him to be a worth asset. Ruto's abrasiveness will augur well with Musalia's calmness. MaDvd's home turf is a vote-rich zone and should the region throw their gauntlets behind Ruto, it will be a milestone in Ruto's presidential course.

Speculations have for a while now done rounds around the country's political sphere that the two are angling to work together ahead of 2022. Its a matter of time before this hypothesis is assented or dissented. The two worked together in KANU and ODM so working together again ain't an impossibility but an expected possibility.
