#13YEARSAGO: Mwagu Secondary School Class'07 - Fragys Ihush

He was notorious for all manner of mischievousness ranging from putting pepper on the blackboard duster to directing spillovers from the school water tank to the classroom so that every morning we would find the entire class flooded.

Francis Ihururia Ndirangu alias Ngahu as we used to call him, was however our sole saviour whenever it came to Mathematics. Personally, this is a subject I had surrendered to him for good. Whether he outscored me in this subject on the final 2007 'tally', is a story for another day.

That said, Ngahu was one of the few promising stars in our class of 34 and by Mwagu standards, he did not disappoint in the final score.

Wanyambura (his other nickname) was one of my closest buddies with whom among four others we had a study group. He is one of the few 2007 classmates that I have continued to interact with closely to this date.

Hardly a month goes before he calls me mostly from noisy backgrounds and during some 'funny' hours of the night. I don't blame him though. Maybe he stays adjacent to a highway, I presume!

FRANCIS IHURURIA NDIRANGU, here is what you wrote on my Farewell Book 13 years ago. Why the guy decided to use a red pen, only him and God knows. As to whether you can even be able to read through his 'hen-like' handwriting, it is a whole new story altogether!

Please note he was the one behind that naughty 'Waitina FM' imaginary radio station that James Njuguna (Joe) and I joined him later and took it to another height.
