In a recent article, we told you how Emmanuel Omala, a 21-year-old DusitD2 terrorist attack survivor was almost surrendering his dream of becoming a journalist after his hopes to join Form One at St Paul's Amukura High School in Teso South, became unattainable due to lack of school fees.
Omala was supposed to report by January 17 deadline but he could not manage up until early this month when OKash, a leading digital lender, showed up promised to cater for his entire fees structure.
Omala, who resolved to go back to school after the DusitD2 terror attack having dropped earlier to work as a motorcycle delivery man with a Nairobi logistics company, was all smiles few days ago as he reported to St Paul's Amukura High School where he was called, after OKash fulfilled on its promise.

Omala’s father, Paul Omala is a poor farmer who solely relies on his small piece of land at Onyonyur in Busia County and literally lives from hand to mouth.

Speaking to Magical Kenya News after Omala was admitted to school, OKash Kenya Acting Director, Peter Kaiga, sympathized with Omala’s situation while regretting the matter had not come to their awareness a little bit earlier.
OKash started operations in Kenya in 2018 through a simple to tap mobile phone app that has had a great acceptance among millions of smartphone users across Kenya.
Currently, OKash is among the leaders in online microlending services in Kenya and among the most downloaded fintech applications in Google Play Store locally.
It is also an award-winning mobile loan service highly trusted by millions of Kenyans who seek its services everyday, according to Similar Web, a top global mobile app ranking firm based in the US.
