Wa-Iria's fear for Dr Moses leads him to desperate measures of discrediting the latter's candidature

Following the shambolic Jubilee nominations in Murang'a County that saw the incumbent governor Mwangi Wa-Iria announced the Jubilee gubernatorial flagbearer, Wa-Iria is still a worried man.

This follows a declaration by Dr Moses Ndung'u Mwangi that he will be on the ballot come August 8. Dr Moses was contesting for Murang'a Jubilee gubernatorial ticket alongside Wa-Iria and Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau before resigning out of the party  some days before the botched 21st April nominations that were termed as a 'sham' by the party itself. Dr Moses, before resigning from the party, had cited imminent and massive rigging by Wa-Iria and cohorts which later came to pass on that Friday. The whole exercise was cancelled by Jubilee and postponed to Wednesday 26th April.

Sensing early defeat by Dr Moses, Wa-Iria has now resorted to baseless propaganda and utter disinformation of Murang'a public with an intention of influencing public opinion in his favour and obscuring the truth. He also intends to mudsling Dr Moses who all along has been campaigning on a platform of peace and development. It is, however, understandable. With Jamleck Kamau out of the scene, Wa-Iria knows pretty well that he has no chances in a race where Dr Moses is his competitor. Period. He can go round cheating people about 2013 contest but Murang'a voters remember well how he used the mix up of the name (Mwangi) to confuse Dr Moses voters to his advantage. Lakini yakimwagika hayazoleki! Dr Moses is now back with a bang prepared to trounce Wa-Iria and liberate Muranga people.

Wa-Iria and cohorts are going round cheating the Murang'a voters that Dr Moses was in the ballot during the just concluded Jubilee nominations where he garnered some few votes. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that Dr Moses garnered more than 31,700 votes and the fact that he was even able to get all these votes despite asking his supporters publicly and on mass media to stay away from the highly compromised exercise, is a clear indication why Wa-Iria is spending sleepless nights scheming and trying hard on how to discredit Dr Moses' candidature. It won't work!

The governor whose government was rated as the most corrupt in the country by EACC survey on March, has also gone an extra mile to hire online goons to tarnish the name of renowned Murang'a businessman Peter Munga accusing him of being behind his woes as Murang'a governor and who is hellbent on engineering his downfall through Dr Moses. Such wild accusations by somebody who believes that he is popular among Murang'ans, is another clear indication of a paranoiac 'leader'who is foreseeing his imminent downfall. What else can it be? It is public knowledge that Wa-Iria had hired buses during the April 26 nominations to ferry more than 1,000 university students who voted for more than five times at different polling centres. This won't be possible on August 8 no wonder the shenanigans by Wa-Iria and company.

Accusing Peter Munga of destabilizing his government, Wa-Iria is just looking for a scapegoat following his failed promises while seeking sympathy from Murang'a voters who are pretty aware that his woes emanate from massive corruption scandals that have plagued his government since he was elected in 2013. He now thinks that the Murang'a Wanjiku will buy into this lie as his day of reckoning approaches on August 8. Never again! Wanjiku is well informed.

The paranoiac Wa-Iria should, however, not be blamed as the kind of popularity that Dr Moses is enjoying even before hitting the ground properly, would send shockwaves to any worthy competitor. Also, Wa-iria's illusions of foreseeing a situation where his government would be paralyzed by a batch of independent MCAs 'sponsored' by Dr Moses and Munga, is an admission and early concession of defeat. Let Wa-Iria hold his horses till August 8 when he will be handed a humiliating defeat by Dr Moses. He should also stop poisoning Muranga people's minds with non-essentials merely because he has nothing to defend his five-year term as Muranga governor. His propaganda and empty rhetoric is balderdash that ought to be dismissed with the prejudice it deserves.

NOTE: Dr Moses supports the re-election of PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA on August 8 as the PRESIDENT of the REPUBLIC OF KENYA.

MURANG'A WANJIKU HAS NOT DECIDED. THE DECISION WILL BE MADE ON AUGUST 8 WHEN THE TRUE AND RIGHTFUL REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE WILL BE ELECTED INTO OFFICE IN A FREE AND FAIR PROCESS. WAMURANI TI ITHURANO.
