Wa-Iria: Jamleck Kamau orchestrated my arrest on Friday

Muranga governor Mwangi Wa Iria has come out gun blazing to accuse his political nemesis Jamleck Kamau for his political woes.

Wa-Iria has accused Kamau for orchestrating his arrest on Friday morning by EACC detectives as he headed to Jubilee House in Pangani to drop his nomination papers.

Speaking after leaving the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre on Friday, Wa-Iria who had been arrested over the multimillion Mariira Farm scandal, said that no weapon fashioned against him by Kamau shall 'prosper'.

"I want to tell him that I am ready for him and his tactics of cowardice shall yield no fruits. He should rest and wait for nominations without digressing to some useless witchhunt," the seemingly angry Wa-Iria barked.

Wa-Iria maintained that he had fulfilled many of his promises to Muranga people despite his administration being ravaged by multi-billion shillings scandals that has now left him staring at a long jail term.

He noted that Kamau had no moral standing to talk about integrity challenging him to come out clear on his academic qualifications and his utilization of Kigumo CDF funds.

"It is a shame that he has been going round deceiving people of nonexistent corruption at the county government when himself cannot account for million of shillings allocated to Kigumo Constituency CDF. Majority of roads in Kigumo are impassable and it has taken my intervention to alleviate the sorry situation. We are not even sure he's qualified to handle the county if he has failed at the constituency level," added Wa-Iria.
The debacle comes in even as a recent opinion poll by askopinion.com showed a shrinking support for both rivals in favour of a new entrant, Dr Moses Ndungu Mwangi.
It is not clear to which extent the two adversaries are ready to go in washing their dirty linen in public, but one thing is clear, they are not anywhere near to ending their political rivalry and witchhunt.
